Yes: Ra is typically more painful in the am, but patients have taught me they can hurt anytime, both with activity ; at rest. Although you have a family hx of ra, you may have another type of inflammatory joint dz, such as lupus or psoriatic arthritis. You should be seeing a rheumatologist who can further address such issues, order radiographs or even an MRI to help delineate the DX and guide tx.

Yes but: We see you all different kinds of manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis. If you seen a rheumatologist you should be clear as to what's going on. A rheumatology evaluation is complex, but it needs to be done correctly to help you. The blood test you describe are not enough to make a diagnosis. You need this to be correlated with the rest of your evaluation. You have excellent rheumatologists in columbus ohio and they should be able to clarify this for youmorning stiffness is classy, but pain can occur anytime of day.
