Does anybody know what are gamma rays used to treat?

Cancer: Gamma rays are naturally produced x-rays from radioactive material such as cobalt 60. In the past cobalt machines were commonly used to treat cancer. Today most medical radiation is delivered via a linear accelerator that makes high energy x-rays.
