A member asked:

After eating scrambled eggs for the first time my 9 month old started gagging and got very fussy and congested. could this be an allergic reaction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: I encourage parents to avoid eggs until after a year of age.If your kid has any negative reaction to a new food you should avoid it for at least a month or more depending on the degree of response. Hives or breathing problems should increase avoidance until you have discussed the issue with your doc, and possibly had allergy tests run. Some food reactions can increase intensity each time.
