No: If done well, for superficial sites it is generally less uncomfortable than a blood draw. For deeper sites, local anesthetic is used ( about a s bad as getting "numbed" for the dentist. Soreness afterward is generally minimal.

Not much: Fna does not hurt very much, more uncomfortable than painful procedure. Procedure received name ' fine' because we use very thin needle. Fna is very fast and informative procedure.
