Root exposure: Root exposure is a common problem with wisdom teeth removal, particularly the back sides of the second molars just in front of the wisdom teeth that were removed. In time, the bone levels fill in the socket and these exposed root surfaces are again covered by new bone. Using a good renameling or sensitivity toothpaste is often helpful in reducing the tooth pain during healing.
