A member asked:

Why is it that i always have nasal allergies the day after i drink beer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common side effect: Of alcohol is vasodilatation, the opening up of blood vessels. In the skin, this is what causes red face and red eyes, in the nose and mucous membranes it causes congestion which may seem like it is allergic, but the allergy is to alcohol. When someone gets negative symptoms from a drug, but continues that drug, it may indicate a problem. Talk with your doctor or mental health counselor about it.
