Yes and no: Yes, once you have it you go numb for a period of time but that eventually wears off.The problem is you must wait a while and labor enough to get baby in position. If they put it in too soon, you may not be able to help bring baby down and end up with a c-section.Too late, and the baby might decide to come rapidly before they can get it in. Everything is complicated in some way.
