Cold intolerance: There is no direct connection between cold weather and the thyroid gland. Sometimes when the thyroid is under-active (hypothyroidism), patients may feel intolerant to the cold. This means that they get cold more easily and feel cold when other people are not cold. If the thyroid is over-active (hyperthyroidism) they may feel hot (heat intolerance).
