Get help with him: It may be possible to maintain a marriage with someone who is mentally ill, but it is very difficult especially if they are noncompliant or lack insight into how their behavior affects the marriage or think their illness is "being enlightened." Get involved in: His treatment. Be in touch with your husband's therapist to let them know if the medication and therspy are working. Your perception of your husband's mental state is important to the prescribing psychiatrist. Get treatment for yourself as well and attend support meetings for people living with a loved one suffering from mental illness.
