Depends on injury: Exercising in water is the best and lowest impact for starting off a "low impact" program. Your doc can order a physical therapy program that is specific to your condition and the stage of your recovery.

On the road again.: Of course, this impossible to answer without knowing the area and description of the injury. Having said that, I like bicycle riding. It can either be stationary or on the road.
