Several things!: 1. Make sure the diagnosis is correct! 2. Make sure you get therapy to cause remission. This is best accomplished by seeing a rheumatology specialist in concert with your pcp!

Needs treatment: Rheumatoid arthritis needs early and aggressive treatment with currently available drugs. This can prevent much joint damage and deformity and lead to major disease control and sometimes remission. Follow treatment diligently.
