Beyond extreme: Firstly, Oxycontin is a long-acting preparation, and headaches are self-limited and should not require this. Secondly, opiate use for headaches actually increases the chance of another headache (rebound headache). Many headaches can be prevented, and you need to see a physician knowledgeable in the workup of headache to get better advice. At most, tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil for tension headache, not opiates.
