Amoxicillin t(1/2): The drug itself has a very short half-life -only about 30 minutes. Generally after about 5 'half-lives' the drug washes out of your system (which is why you take the drug 3x a day - to get good levels and keep them there during therapy). If you're having side effects, the drug may have already left your system but side effects remain (like diarrhea). If it's bad, call the doc who prescribed it.
