Can you tell me how is wisdom tooth extraction different from normal tooth extraction?

Depends: Some wisdom teeth, especially upper erupted teeth are super easy to extract. When any tooth is fully erupted, it usually is a straight forward extraction which still can be difficult. Any tooth, especially an impacted wisdom tooth will be more difficult and require a more complex procedure. Your dentist or oral surgeon will cover all possibilities during your initial visit.

Depends: Removal of any tooth, whether an erupted tooth or impacted tooth can sometimes be challenging. A badly decayed tooth with minimal crown structure remaining, or a root canal treated tooth with a post and core build up can be as challenging as an impacted tooth, and may require the same surgical technique for removal.
