Depends on severity.: The psychologist can do counseling to help deal with ocd but there are medications also that help ocd. A few visit to a psychologist can help you learn techniques to control obsessive thoughts which you can then learn to do on your own. I suppose you could read up on ocd and learn to do systematic desensitization yourself . If the obsessions are severe, you need to see a psychiatrist.
