Read all about it...: My patients like the book "when panic attacks" by david burns md. I find when one has a better understanding of where anxiety comes from, one is better able to manage it. You should be able to get it at your local library or find it on line. (i have no monetary interest in dr. Burns' books.) good cognitive-behavioral therapists can also guide you through this problem in a relatively short time.

First try relaxation: Relaxation techniques, meditation, deep breathing, learning to stop negative thoughts are first-line do-it-yourself helpful approaches. You may need help learning these from a therapist, or a chance to talk about what is causing it. There are anti-anxiety medicines that can help, but usually best when paired with talking and/or cognitive behavioral therapy.

Family doctor: A family doctor can deal with a variety of issues including anxiety. Try reading on mindfulness. It is proven to work without medication.

the book is a great read; there are many 'anxiety busting' techniques out there from meditation to taking a simple walk. If you need to you can also find a therapist to work through your anxiety with; or find medication to relieve your symptoms in the short term.
