Yes: A damaged nerve can regenerate after wisdom tooth extraction, but it will take time. Sometimes, if it is going to come back, it can take several months. Sometimes it doesn't recover. Give it time.

Paresthesia: Usually recovering occurs within the first week but may be delayed to up to a year and in some cases never. It's important that you discuss this with the dentist who removed the tooth asap! as chances of recovery can sometime be improved with medications such as anibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs. Sometimes getting a second opinion from another Oral Surgeon is a prudent measure.
