Yes and no: That depends on the how the medication is metabolized. Grapefruit can inhibit certain enzymes in the liver that metabolize many medications. If these enzymes are inhibited then the liver can't eliminate the drug properly and the levels of the drug increase in your body. Benicar (olmesartan) is not metabolized this way and you should be okay to eat grapefruit.
