More treatment: Do you have wheezing? Have you had a chest xray? You may have asthmatic bronchitis which is often a prolonged, stubborn problem following a viral infection. I would consult a pulmonologist for further evaluation and treatment which may involve a longer course of prednisone(and medication to protect your stomach). Obviously you shouldn't smoke.

Many possibilities: A chest x-ray and a ct sinus may give a clue as to infectious etiologies. If your symptoms continue a visit to an allergist, pulmonologist or ENT may be in order. Some viruses can cause a chronic cough for months after the initial infection.
