?vein problems: Tightness in the lower legs can be caused by insufficiency of the veins. Even if you don't have varicose veins, the internal veins could be the problem. Do your legs feel better when they're elevated or with support hose on? If so your physician may order venous ultrasounds of your legs for further evaluation.
