Discuss w/ Dr: Side effects need to be reported to the doctor who prescribed. Those are not common ones, but the doctor needs to know and if you should stop - needs to monitor your withdrawal. Failure to stop carefully can be quite risky. Your therapist may be helpful with these symptoms too. Good luck.

Call your prescriber: Escitalopram is an ssri, usually taken once a day. It can take several weeks before one feels better. If it makes you sleepy, try taking it at night. If you tried this and had insomnia, or if your mood is worse, you may need to try a different antidepressant. It's important to talk with your prescriber before changing when you take this med, stopping it or trying a different antidepressant.
