Hyoid: Bone syndrome could have developed from trauma, an ENT may help you with cortisone shot at the right location.

Not related: There is no bone in front of your thyroid, but your larynx is located just above your thyroid. If you try to move it from side to side it normally has a cracking or grating feeling. I don't know why it should bother you. You should see an ENT if it persists.
