Doxycycline?: If you have wax in your ear canal, how can your doctor possibly be giving you treatment without a definitive diagnosis? If you are talking about doxycycline, this is an antibiotic that is virtually never used for otitis media. Treatment always follows a diagnosis, you do not yet have a diagnosis for middle ear infection if your doctor can not see the ear drum. See an ent doc.
