Allergies/virus: Usually, in the absence of trauma, a clear discharge could originate in the sinuses or the nasal passages. Most common causes are allergies, viruses or simply cold air exposure. For symptomatic relief of allergic or viral rhinitis, a steroid nasal inhaler (dose: 1-2 inhalations each nostril every 12-24 hrs for 1-2 weeks) will alleviate the dripping. It's always safest to see ones doctor first.
