Spur: This sounds like a bone spur possibly from some old mechanical irritation. It isn't significant unless there are generalized bone changes. Hypertrophic changes are seen in the joints of people with wear and tear arthritis(osteoarthritis). A radiologist can give you more of an explanation, however.

Can statins (Lipitor and Crestor specifically) cause changes in taste? Many foods (either acidic foods or certain proteins, I can't isolate it) that I once enjoyed are distasteful. Other foods taste normal. The statins are the only consistent change.
