Bronchitis: Is a loose term we use for the presumed inflammation of the larger airways, the bronchi in the lungs from any cause which could be infectious, etc. But if infectious mostly viral unless there are symptoms of fever or other upper infection to start with. Handwashing and not coughing on others is the way to prevent spread. If needed, in minority of cases, use antibiotics to prevent shedding.
