Transabdominal: Ultrasound can show the liver and the draining ducts and the gall bladder. If the ducts are dilated in the liver, and the gall bladder too, it indicates a blockage between the gall bladder duct and where the pancreas drain into the duodenum. This may call for endoscopic ultrasound or a look with the scope or mr_choangiography to define where and what the blockage is.
