Protriptylene: Protriptylene can be given once a day, and I have done it. It does have a long half-life (54-124 hours in my reference), but peak plasma level is at 12 hours. You could get agitation and rapid heart rate, sweating, etc at higher doses (60mg). I would give it in the morning, if dosing it this way -- and start at 5mg in geriatrics but 10mg others. And i would get a baseline ekg. Good luck!
