Very similar: Both of these steroids are very similar in efficacy and safety. If treating your asthma is best accomplished with an inhaled steroid, it makes little difference which one you use to start. If it doesn't adequately control your asthma after a month, try the other one. What works best for one asthmatic may not work best for another; that is why there are several choices available.

They are similar: Across the board, all inhaled steroids have similar efficacy, though some may claim otherwise. Some may work a bit better for some person and not others so, there is that individual difference in response to each med, but over all they are similar. The best med is the one that works, has minimal/no side effects, and affordable for that person! consult your doc.. Good luck.
