A member asked:

40 weeks pregnant with second baby and trying to avoid induction. doctor says they schedule inductions at 41 weeks. how to avoid i have no complicatio?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Standard practice: Standard practice these days to induce at 41 weeks, given that the risk of stillbirth goes up significantly after 41 weeks. I've heard all manner of homeopathic methods for inducing labor including, nipple stimulation, castor oil, swimming in pool, having sex with husband, spicy food, massage under the calcaneus bone on your ankle. Sadly, there's no data for any of them. Be safe, listen to doc.
