Chemical diaper rash: Applying a barrier (ointments such as a ; d, desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) or vaseline, aveeno) to supplement the skin’s natural protections can help. Rinse the area or have her sit in a tub of tepid water and baking soda to speed healing. Air out the area. Do not wipe since this creates more friction and excoriation of the delicate skin of her genitals. If no improvement over 5-7 days-see your pediatrician.
