Wrong diagnosis: If there is no diabetes, the diagnosis is not "diabetic nerve pain." there are many potential causes of widespread pain, see a pain doctor. The good news is that almost none of those causes is acutely dangerous.

Let's assess: Let's assume your total body pain is not due to fibromyalgia. It maybe that one explanation is a peripheral nerve problem, such as a small fibre neuropathy. Diabetes is but one cause, there are 8 others.
