Testosterone: Wow. He only recommended the most expensive versions? That is very interesting. Testosterone treatments come in gels, creams, patches and as injections or as implants in the arm. The injections are by far the least expensive way to take testosterone.

You can try any: But depends on preference. Androgel is a gel applied to skin daily. Axiron is a solution applied under the arms daily and Fortesta is also a gel applied daily. Androgel has been around the longest. They have similar side effects. A determining factor may be which your insurance will pay for.

Need a diagnosis: Androgel, axiron, and Fortesta are all similar products made by different companies. All three work well. The main difference is where one places the gel on your body. The more important question is: do you truly have a low testosterone, and what is the cause. You should not be on this medication simply for low energy or low sex drive unless there is a definite diagnosis of hypogonadism.
