Possible retina prob: This could be the ocular form of migraine which can occur without headache but it might be a retina problem. You should see an eye md.

A # of possibilities: White sparkling dots which appear for 1 to 15 minutes are usually part of a migraine like syndrome. A brief flash of dots can be due to a retinal tear. You will not die of this but have yourself checked.
