Vitamin D and skin: Lack of exposure to sun is certainly one common causes of vitamin d deficiency. Deficiency of vitamin d can cause symptoms of tingling and numbness and feelings of crawling sensation on your skin as well. This is called dysesthesia. A simple laboratory test can determine your vitamin d levels.

Yes: We get vit d primarily from the sun and even if you live in a sunny place if you don't spend time in the mid-day sun (or use sunsreen) you will not produce adequate c. Those with darker-pigmented skin need more sun. As for the skin crawling/biting, this is unrelated and should be evaluated by a doctor in person. See http://bit.Ly/1dc7vna ; http://bit.Ly/1fnt3ox.
