Needs evaluation.: It sounds like you may have a clot in the vein from the iv. This is very common and not serious but certainly it does cause discomfort. It could also be an irritation of the nerve in the area but this is less likely than a problem with the vein. You can try heat applications and ibuprofen. If this doesn't help, then you should see your physician.
