Why?: Ask yourself what touches the nipples. If it is jewelry, you could be sensitive to nickel in the alloy. If it is due to a dryer sheet or detergent, take a bit of the sheet or fabric or jewelry and place it on the forearm and cover for 72 hours. If it is a contact allergy you will have a rash by then. If it is positive, avoidance is required. Topical cortisone helps in the short term.

Get it checked: It is very difficult to tell what the dry red spots could be without looking at it visually.I suggest you have it checked by your doctor or a dermatologist it may be eczema, contact dermatitis, tinea infection or something else. Get it checked.
