Colon 20cm resection 10days ago(75 y old).today, discovered all colon dead(arteriosclerosis).so, had total colectomy(1.5 meter).was that medical error?

Medical error: Arteriosclerosis can cause colonic ischemia and infarction. Whether the extent of the problem was not recognized at your surgery or if there was no appearance of threatened bowel thus not resected at the initial surgery can't be judged or speculated from out here.
