See answer: Sexual activity, especially frequent or prolonged, is a common risk factor for uti. Related to introduction of your own vaginal bacteria into your bladder combined with biological factors. Drinking plenty of fluids, emptying your bladder after sexual activity, and avoiding spermicidal/diaphragm use all helpful. A single dose of prophylactic antibiotic after sex also quite effective.
