Airway sensitivity: Airway hyperreactivity/asthma is an oversensitivity of the bronchial tubes to particulate matter resulting in persistent cough. Besides smoking as a cause of cough, post nasal drip, gostro-esophageal refulx , upper airway irritation, inhalation of particulates contribute. Breathing test, chest xray, evaluation of gerd and upper airway/sinuses can be arranged by your doctor. Treatment with inhalers.
