Would an mri scan on the coccyx for tailbone pain show if there was some sort of tumor causing the pain?

More than likely: But why would you have a tumor on your coccyx? A rather unusual reason for coccygeal pain in a 29 year old woman. Keep in mind that common things happen commonly. A plain x-ray would be a better first imaging study especially if there was an injury.

Yes ... but: It is very unlikely that a 29 year old would have a coccygeal tumor that would present only with pain. There are innumerable more likely causes of pain. Especially when most of the people i see with "coccyx" pain actually locate their pain to the low back or si joints.
