Time for consult: It may or may not be ok, difficult to diagnose something like this with out a visual examination. I suspect some type of chronic irritation that may be related to your lupus or possibly some acid reflux related to your gastritis. You might have your physician take a look as well as your dentist.

A little off: The color changes you are describing seem to be out of the normal spectrum for oral mucosa. You really ought to have both your Physician and your Dentist take a look, review your medical/dental history, evaluate your meds/supplements, and run appropriate lab tests.
