Don't panic.: Stage 2 chronic kidney disease is mild and if it remains stable, should not affect your lifespan significantly. Lead a common-sense healthy lifestyle (healthy diet, exercise, avoid smoking, etc) and keep regular checkups with your primary care physician. If the kidney disease progresses (which it sometimes can), you should be referred to a nephrologist who can help manage this chronic condition.

Longevity and CKD: You do not provide enough information about the patient (P) to give you an answer. Some questions I have are, how old is the P, what is the cause of CKD and how fast is it progressing? Patients with CKD live shorter than age matched controls without it, as a rule. The best thing is the have the P ask the physician who diagnosed the CKD for a meaningful answer to your question. Good luck.
