Jaundice & modafinil: Would a doc prescribe modafinil (a med used to promote wakefulness) to a patient with jaundice? There is a caution on prescribing modafinil to patients with liver disease (as the med is primarily metabolized via the liver). Essentially, however, this is a clinical decision that ur doc will make based on the cause of jaundice & severity of liver dz. modafinil shu b avoided in Pts w hx of addiction.
