A member asked:

How could docs or psychiatrists test for schizophrenia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not a simple test: There is no blood test for schizophrenia. Schizophrenia can be diagnosed from a thorough psychiatric evaluation by a psychiatrist. Lab tests should be done to rule out any possible medical causes of the symptoms. Onset of symptoms are usually in the 16-30 age range.
