A member asked:

How come many forms of cancer begin in glands?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Adenocarcinoma: Glands all begin as outpouchings of surfaces and these are the cells that come into contact with various chemicals -- including many from nature -- that can damage genes. They also renew their cells and this allows overgrowth of mutated clones that eventually become cancer. This is a good question that's often not addressed in general medical education. Thanks for asking.
