Can cancer be in the soft tissue of a lymph gland?

Yes...: Often the first sign of cancer spreading is to the local lymphnode... When a woman having clinical breast exam, her underam is also examined to make sure no lymphnode etc...Once cancer is diagnosed or suspected, the lymphnodes are biopsied/resected to see if cancer is in there. The nodes are basically filters and when cancer cells pass thru, they are trapped there. Consult your doc.. Good luck..
