Who says it works?: The only way to really know if a treatment works or not is to test it against a standard treatment in such a way that neither the patient nor the doctor knows which treatment is being used. For treatments to work on brown recluse bites, they have to be started before the bitten tissue dies. Most people don't even know they have been bitten until then and so come to the hospital late.
