Depends on variables: I have seen it and treated it. Proper management of this level of hyperglycemia can be quite satisfying and return the patient to stable health. Failure to identify and treat can be deadly.

Needs to go to ER: Children tolerate high blood sugars but this needs to be treated immediately and can have a good outcome. Left untreated it is deadly.
