Comminuted fracture: Unfortunately, bone healing takes a minimum of 4-6 weeks. Staying compliant with non-weightbearing orders until then and eating a healthy diet, not smoking and (my preference) not taking NSAIDs (as there is evidence that they inhibit healing) are all important. If your injury looks anything like the attached photo, your healing time could be much longer (12+ weeks) minimum to a year.
